Lynn Writes

Welcome

I love art. I spent years dabbling in painting, drawing, sewing, crafting, baking and any other type of art that caught my eye. I became passable at many of those and occasionally produced something decent.

I’ve always written, but never considered it art—and there is debate in higher circles whether it can actually be claimed as art—but I believe writing books, stories, poems—how can these creations not be considered art? And so, I write. Art or not, I enjoy writing. Immense satisfaction results when characters form themselves on pages. They become real and I miss them after the last words of their story are committed to the page.

Then there are words which form our writing, enriching and enhancing the stories we weave. Some words are so necessary we all know them and some are so satisfying to say that we can’t help but become enamored with them: plethora, serendipity, rambunctious, ethereal, opulence, catawampus—and there are more, oodles more. Now that I’ve begun, I could write a long list—I may in fact do that in a blog one day.

And what about quotes? We all communicate, but isn’t there something compelling about a quote or phrase that touches many? What about ones with enough impact to become ubiquitous?

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

Albert Einstein

If you want your children to listen, try talking softly to someone else.

I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific.
